Event Details

     This insightful two-day seminar will define attachment disorder and share in-depth survival skills for succeeding with a child with attachment problems.  When love alone is not enough, there are solutions.  These techniques can help bring laughter and love back into the home of families in need and provide resources for professionals who offer support.

Presentation - 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

     Thursday will focus on specifics regarding the hows, whats, and whys of attachment disorder.  Nancy will discuss the impact of attachment disorder on brain development, effective attachment therapies, and parenting strategies.  She will also talk about building an effective team, including the role of parents, psychologists, therapists, respite providers, educators, and extended families.

Friday, March 2nd, 2012

Sign in from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Presentation 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

     Friday will focus on strategies to be used, starting with infants and toddlers, then moving through the teen years.  The various stages of development will be addressed in the context of attachment-disordered children.  Participants will be exposed to the most effective strategies to use while focusing on the development level of the child as they grow.

WHO IS NANCY THOMAS?
Nancy Thomas, mother, grandmother, adoptive mom and foster mom, has worked as a
Therapeutic Parenting Specialist with children who had AD, RAD, PTSD, Aspergers,
ritualistic abuse, ADD, ADHD, ODD, Tourette’s Syndrome and Bipolar Disorder.
